How to Play Texas Hold’em

Texas Hold’em is one of the many variations of the game of poker. At the outset, someone new might think that it is a difficult and very tedious game. Yet the truth is that it is very simple and logical and can be learnt in just a few minutes. The catch is mastering the game, which will require a lot of training.

Overview

A player needs to first understand a number of terms before they can know the game. The game is a group game and both the playing cards and the bets play a very pivotal role. The game can have a minimum of two and a maximum of ten players at the same table. The basic goal for the winner of the game is getting the biggest pot. The game can have several rounds. The winner of the pot emerges when all the other players fold or the player has the best hand. Learn more here.

Setting

The game begins with the players agreeing who will be the first dealer. The game involves a rotating dealer where each player has a chance of playing the role. The dealer is then supposed to give two cards to each player on the table. The players then need to make bets at the table where they will all be dealt a card. There are three rounds of betting as the game proceeds before all the players reveal their cards.

Ending

The game can only end in two ways. The most common way is when everyone else folds their hands. This is the advantage of the game because you do not need to have the best hand to win. For all the rest to fold, the winner will have the largest bet that has forced others out. The other way would be simply when the best hand wins.
